VENTURA has an annual call for entries. Submissions for all projects open September 4th 2023.
The deadline for Spanish projects is October 22nd, 2023. The deadline for international projects is November 26th, 2023. Projects presented out of the submission period will not be considered. All candidates must complete the registration form and there is no limit of projects per candidate. The registration fee is 25€ per project.
The registration takes place only on the website: https://ventura.gal/.
By completing the registration, the applicants affirm their rights of ownership over the registered projects and are responsible for the materials delivered in terms of intellectual and commercial property rights. The organisation is exempt from any legal conflict or infringement of rights.
All applications should include the following materials in English or Spanish, in one single PDF (20MB maximum):
- Project Title
- Synopsis (2 pages maximum)
- Treatment* (10 pages maximum)
- Director’s statement (2 pages maximum)
- Director’s biofilmography (1 page maximum)
- Producer’s statement (if available)
- Producer’s biofilmography (if available)
- Production company’s Profile (if available)
- Marketing and distribution strategy (if available)
- Financial outline and detailed budget (if available)
- Links to director’s previous films (if available)
- Links to producer’s previous films (if available)
- Link to Work-in-Progress version (if available)
- Statements of interest from relevant parties in the film industry (optional)
- Additional materials (optional)
- * Filmmakers who are not working with a script-based treatment are invited to submit a alternative dossier that can contain notes, descriptions, drawings, images, sounds or other artistic indications that can represent the aesthetic form and narrative structure of their film project
A selection committee will assess the projects and base their decision on the quality of the project, the director’s previous works, and the producer’s experience and commitment to the project. The organisation will then contact the selected projects to confirm their participation. The final selection of projects and participants will be published on our website. Please note, the final selection is definitive and indisputable.
Once selected, the directors and producers agree to take part in all our activities and provide the necessary information about their projects which will be included in our catalogue and our website. All participants, during in-person activities, authorise the use of their image for promotional purposes. The organisation will take care of the flights (economy class) and will provide housing and meals for one participant for every selected project during in-person activities.
An international Jury will award a cash Prize of €10.000,00 to one project presented at VENTURA. The organisation will also offer a variety of prizes in services, provided by our partners and sponsors. All awards will be announced on the closing day of the event.
All films that result from a project presented at VENTURA must include in its credits the following acknowledgement: Project presented at VENTURA + Logo.
