Todo es cárcel

Todo es cárcel

Synopsis:

Todo es cárcel takes on the full reality of Franco’s concentration camps. Taking as its starting point the end of the civil war in the port of Alicante, the film travels around the Spanish geography showing the places where these spaces existed, putting them in conversation with accounts of the day-to-day life of that imprisonment (through the diaries, memoirs and letters of men and women in-prisoned). Through the diversity of the stories and places shown, Todo es cárcel reflects on this dark episode of the early Franco regime: overcrowding, hunger, disease, torture, executions, indoctrination, corruption… but also the struggles against it, the down times and the solidarity among the prisoners.
