VENTURA is an international platform dedicated to directors and producers working on independent films with a strong artistic vision of cinema.

VENTURA accepts film projects from all countries, in all stages of development, production or post-production, without restriction in regards to duration, format or cinematic genre.

VENTURA offers a programme that includes professional training, project development and industry meetings. It acts in a hybrid model, combining in-person and online activities as part of its workspace. All on-site activities are located in Tui, Galicia (Spain).

Each edition, VENTURA presents a selection of ten works, divided into two groups of national and international projects. The programme is designed in three stages: the five national projects are invited to all stages of the programme, while the five international projects are invited to the third and final stage.

  • First stage

    For producers and filmmakers working on Spanish projects.
    Dates: 11th to 15th December 2023.
    Language requirements: Spanish and English.
    This activity will take place online.

    During the first phase, the selected producers representing the Spanish projects are invited to a five-day professional training programme online with a renowned group of industry experts to help develop their knowledge in terms of financing, co-producing, distributing, marketing and audience design, amongst other areas of interest.

  • Second stage

    For filmmakers with Spanish projects.
    Dates: 15th to 19th January 2024.
    Language requirements: Spanish.
    This activity will take place in-person.

    During the second stage, the selected filmmakers with Spanish projects are invited to take part in a five-day intensive writing residency with Mariano Llinás, the prestigious Argentine filmmaker, screenwriter and teacher.

    This meeting will take place at Finca Remesal, an ideal space for the development of creative work, peaceful, and in full communion with nature.

  • Third stage

    For filmmakers and producers with Spanish and international projects.
    Dates: 20th to 21st January 2024.
    Language requirements: Spanish and English.
    This activity will take place in-person.

    During the third phase, the selected filmmakers and producers representing Spanish and international projects are invited to participate in a series of industry meetings with a selected group of international film professionals, including producers, distributors, sales agents and commissioners as well as representatives of funds, markets and festivals.

    In this final phase, all the selected participants are also expected to present their projects to an international Jury who will award a cash prize of €10.000,00 to one project presented at the event. The organisation will also offer a variety of prizes in services, provided by our partners and sponsors.
